Comprehensive Policy

AGNAMAR S.A. is committed to achieve high standards of quality, safety, protection of the environment and human life, in the commercialization and transportation of fuels, and the provision of complementary maritime services.

Senior Management bases our Policy on the following commitments:

  • To continuously improve the integrated management system as a culture within the organization.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the business, and the prevention of environmental pollution.
  • To guarantee the availability of financial resources to sustain the preventive maintenance plan for the vessels and their operations in order to keep the business profitable.
  • To maintain a management system to prevent, evaluate and control quality, safety, environmental and occupational health risks to meet the needs and expectations of all our stakeholders and minimize the risks to which the vessels, crew and collaborators are exposed in order to prevent and minimize work accidents, occupational diseases, pollution at sea and product quality problems.
  • To strengthen the competence, training and motivation of onboard and administrative personnel for the efficient and effective performance of their duties.
  • To ensure the protection of cyber information through guidelines for controlling access to computers, networks, software, internet, use of removable disks and external devices on ships and in administrative offices.
  • To promote a healthy work environment, establishing control and monitoring strategies to prohibit the consumption, introduction, possession and distribution of alcohol and drugs throughout the organization.
  • To distribute our comprehensive policy to all our collaborators, contractors, clients and suppliers.

This policy also aims to provide a reference framework for the establishment of the purposes of the management system, taking into account the context of the organization and the support of both top management and all the company's employees.

Corporate Governance

The highest corporate entity is the Board; which is made up of seven members designated by the General Board of Shareholders. The Board meets at least 6 times a year.

Since 2010, Transfuel Corporate Group embarked on a journey to incorporate policies and principles to promote the integration and operations of the company’s governance entities within the principles of Good Corporate Governance. To that effect, regulations for the procedures of the Board have been established, in which the commitment with fidelity, confidentiality, loyalty and transparency in the actions of all the members of the Board, in their endeavour to maximize the value of the company, balancing the interests of the different stakeholders such as investors, customers, managers, employees and third parties is stated.

In order to generate more dynamic work and results from the work carried out by the Board, four Committees have been created: Financial, Projects, Organization and Fleet Renovation. These could be expanded or reduced in response to the needs of the business.

Behaviour, Ethics and Social Policies

The ethical values and principles that will be defined herein represent the guidance reference for the behaviour of all of the members of the company in their work activities. Those responsibilities must be followed under principles of loyalty, transparency, good faith in business practices and personal integrity.

Interpersonal relations amongst the members of the company must be carried out within a framework of mutual respect and open communication, building towards a healthy and safe work environment abstaining from any offensive or inappropriate behaviour.

We must keep always the strictest ethical standard both morally as commercially in our dealings with customers, suppliers, partners, people, communities and, generally, with all private and state organizations with whom we work, in order to become an example of honerty and transparency.

The organization is aware of the importance of maintaining a permanent dialogue and commitment with the different stakeholders, in order to be able to jointly establish mechanisms that will contribute towards preventing the negative socio-economic impacts that may be generated by our activities.

Social Responsibility

We understand that in our organization the success of our business and its sustainability in time, lies in the trust and credibility that we have with our customers, employees, financial institutions, suppliers, shareholders and all stake holders in general. This is the reason why we have embarked on a path of application of socially responsible practices in our actions.

The organization acknowledges that the protection of the environment and the ecosystem are an important part of its social responsibility. Thus, a clear ecological awareness has been developed in its work force, emphasizing a respect for the environment and the efficient use of energy in the organization.

Social and community management aims to contribute to the sustainable development of groups of interest that participate in the activities developed by the company.

As a socially responsible organization, the company aims to have in force the collective and environmental rights which involve and affect the community, and to this effect, a commitment with the sustainable development of its operations is established.

The company considers that any acts of corruption and bribery are an infringement of Human Rights, and it thus, promotes controls and follow up mechanisms in order to avoid such practices from taking place.

The focus of our economic management is geared towards promoting and achieving excellence in the company’s operations that will ensure profitable growth and promote a better response to our customers and suppliers.

Our permanent commitment with quality, the community and environment are important guidelines for the financial sustainability of the organization.
