Fuel Oil Sulfur limit reminder as from 1st January 2012

Friday December 16, 2011 | 16:20

According with current Marpol Annex VI Sulfur limit as from 1st January 2012 is set to be 3.5% from currently 4.5%.

It is advisable ship managers to carefully plan fuel oil orders in order not to have bunkers with 4.5% after 1/1/2012.

Vessels trading between countries ratified MARPOL and consuming FO with sulfur content above 3.5% after 1/1/2012 will be in violation of MARPOL and they will prone to PSC remarks or statutory deficiencies.

We are pleased to communicate that sulfur in our IFOs do not exceed 2% so our clients can rely that our fuel widely fulfill the new Marpol's regulations.
